Elementary Library Media Center

Rising Star Elementary participates in the Accelerated Reading program through Renaissance Place. The students, teachers, and librarian set reading goals and giving the students a goal to reach. Students are recognized in the awards ceremony each six weeks for exceptional progress toward their AR goals and those students reaching their yearly goal participate in a fun field trip at the end of the school year.

The elementary library contains over 6000 titles including reference, fiction, nonfiction, biographies, and easy fiction.  The library also has a video collection and internet access. The library is also equipped with a Tandberg distance learning lab which is available for virtual field trips, community, faculty, and school board training.
